Try betting three chips on red and two chips on the centre column (most black there). If red comes up on one of the other columns you lose two and win three chips. If black turns up in the centre you win four chips and lose three. If both centre and red come up you win seven chips. Okay, you will not win (or lose) much, but it will ensure you will play a lot longer than just betting on a single number with odds of 38 to one.
